Dayton Rodeo Queens

The Dayton Rodeo queens are chosen by the Wranglers Saddle Club.

The junior queen must be eleven to sixteen years old and her parents should be members of the club. The Senior queen must, herself, be a member and have shown enthusiasm for the clubs events. Both queens must own a horse. Queens are nominated and then by secret ballot elected as junior and senior queen.

In years past the queens had to prove their horsemanship before 3 unbiased judges. It was required they put their horse through a pleasure horse type test at the ring masters command. They had to be able to mount and dismount gracefully. The judges then chose the queens. The chosen queens were crowned at the Memorial Day horse show by the queen of the past year. Her duties then begin and carry on through Labor Day.

Current duties of the queens are to lead in all area parades; be active participants in Wranglers Saddle Club activities, the July URA/IRCA rodeo, ride in the Grand Entry of the Labor Day Pro Rodeo performances, herd the roping calves back to their pen during the rodeo and participate in the Rodeo Kids Corral event before each rodeo performance - Make sure to wave to these ladies during the upcoming parades throughout the summer

2025 Dayton Rodeo Queen - Sarah Frisbie

Howdy! My name is Sarah Frisbie and I am the 22 year old daughter of Bill and Mary Frisbie. I am so excited to be your Miss Dayton Rodeo 2025!

I was blessed enough to be born into a 3rd generation working cowboy family. Since before I could remember, I have been on the back of a horse. Whether it was following my dad around on an outfit or competing in youth rodeos, all I ever wanted to do was grow up and be involved in the rodeo industry.

I really started to become aware of what a rodeo queen was when I was about 13 or 14 years old and everything about it looked like so much fun to me! It quickly became my favorite part of the rodeo and I was glued to the fence watching the gorgeous ladies with big hair, sparkly shirts and shaps do exactly what I do almost everyday with my family. Not only do I now get to make my family proud by showing the horsemanship in the arena that I have been working on since I was a little girl, I get to share with the younger generations what an awesome thing rodeo is. I get to be an advocate for the rodeo and the cowboy way of life that spreads all across the USA!

I am so grateful for the opportunity to be your Miss Dayton Rodeo 2025! I look forward to having a conversation with every person I can while I hold this title. Please wave hello if you ever see me around!

2025 Dayton Rodeo Jr Queen - Lydia Longhorn

From small town Pilot Mound, Iowa, I am Lydia Longhorn, your 2025 Dayton Rodeo Junior Queen. I am the daughter of Scott and Alayna Longhorn and the youngest of 4 kids. I learned the impact of future agriculture interests while growing up on my family farm. My family and I have been raising quarter horses, gelbvieh cattle, and german shepherd dogs my entire life.

Off the farm, I am highly involved in 4-H and FFA at almost every level. These organizations have taught me the importance of dedication and education. Even though I have lived my entire life as a lover and supporter of the sport of rodeo, it wasn't until recently that I started helping out at our local roping’s, stripping steers behind the scenes. Working the dirtier side of the sport showed me how much I actually loved rodeo and wanted others to love it just as much. Continuing to work for my local rodeos, it brought me to receive this title.

Now, I am thrilled to be the 2025 Dayton Rodeo Junior Queen and to have a chance to represent these amazing athletes and the sport we call rodeo. Now, follow what you love and remember, Philippians 4:13, "You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you."

Happy Trails,

Lydia Longhorn
